Compliance & Regulations
Under the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 (Reg 13.3), all motor vehicles on mine sites must be equipped with effective headlights, tail lights, turn indicators, audible warning signals, and flashing cab lights on light vehicles. Major mining operators — including BHP, Rio Tinto, and Fortescue — impose additional requirements such as 5-star ANCAP safety ratings, IVMS/DVMS driver monitoring, hi-vis reflective conspicuity tape (3M Diamond Grade), ROPS/FOPS protection, and LED identification boards for positive asset identification. Non-compliant vehicles are denied site access.
